Last updated · May 12, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Noxus ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you visit this website or use our services. We respect your privacy and comply with applicable Canadian and Québec privacy laws, including Québec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25) and the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

1 · Who we are

Noxus is a web design and development studio based in Montréal, Québec, Canada.

For privacy-related inquiries, contact our privacy officer:

Joseph — Privacy Officer
Email: joseph@noxusstudios.com

2 · Information we collect

We collect personal information only when you choose to provide it. This includes:

  • Contact form submissions — name, email address, service type, budget range, and project details you share.
  • Direct communications — anything you send via email, Instagram DM, or Calendly bookings.
  • Browser preferences — theme (light/dark) and language (EN/FR) saved to your browser's localStorage on your device. This data never leaves your browser and is not transmitted to us.

We do not currently use cookies for tracking, advertising, or analytics.

3 · How we use your information

We use the information you provide solely to:

  • Respond to your inquiry or service request
  • Schedule and conduct discovery calls
  • Deliver services you have agreed to
  • Send transactional communications (project updates, invoices)

We do not use your information for marketing or send promotional emails without your explicit, prior consent.

4 · Legal basis

Under Québec Law 25 and PIPEDA, we process your information on the following bases:

  • Consent — when you submit a form or send us a message, you consent to us using that data to respond.
  • Performance of a contract — to deliver services we have agreed to provide you.
  • Legitimate business interest — replying to commercial inquiries directed at us.

5 · Service providers & international transfers

We use the following third-party services to operate our site. Each acts as a data processor on our behalf:

  • Netlify (United States) — hosts the site and processes contact form submissions. Netlify privacy policy ↗
  • Google Workspace (United States) — used for email correspondence (Gmail), scheduling, and video calls (Google Calendar, Google Meet).
  • Calendly (United States) — used when you book a discovery call. Calendly privacy policy ↗

Where data is transferred outside of Québec or Canada, we rely on the service providers' contractual safeguards (including standard contractual clauses where applicable). By using this website or our services, you acknowledge that your personal information may be processed in the United States.

6 · How long we keep your data

  • Form submissions & inquiries — up to 24 months after our last interaction, then deleted.
  • Active client data — duration of the engagement plus 24 months for tax and accounting purposes (or longer where law requires).
  • Browser preferences (localStorage) — stored on your device until you clear your browser data. We do not have access to or control over this.

7 · Your rights

Under Québec Law 25 and PIPEDA, you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Deletion — request erasure of your information, subject to legal retention requirements.
  • Withdraw consent — at any time, for any future processing.
  • Portability — receive your data in a structured, commonly-used, machine-readable format.
  • De-indexing or cessation of dissemination — request that we stop using your information for a specific purpose.

To exercise any of these rights, email joseph@noxusstudios.com. We will respond within 30 days, as required by Québec Law 25.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec (CAI): cai.gouv.qc.ca ↗

8 · Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. This includes HTTPS encryption in transit, strong password practices for our accounts, two-factor authentication where supported, and limited access to data within our team.

No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to minimize risk.

In the event of a confidentiality incident presenting a risk of serious injury, we will notify the Commission d'accès à l'information and affected individuals as required under Québec Law 25.

9 · Children

Our services are not directed at children under 14 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 14. If you believe we have collected information about a child, contact us at joseph@noxusstudios.com and we will delete it.

10 · Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated through this website, or by email if you have previously contacted us.
